Life can get hectic and injuries or dysfunction can occur when you least expect it. In a perfect world this would just mean having regularly scheduled appointments so that we are dealing with issues before they arise. However this may not be a feasible option for everyone.
Sometimes when you go to book a last minute appointment with us, you may be disappointed to find that there are no availabilities. Rest assured that there are indeed still other options available. What options you may be asking? Well as it so happens, there are quite a few exceptional therapists within Edmonton!
On this page you will find other licensed therapists that I (Mike) either regularly get maintenance work from myself, or that I went to school with and respect very much. Notice that each therapist brings something unique to the table. Whether that be their actual approach to the massage, or the specific modalities and techniques used (I will attempt to highlight these by italicizing them).
Who knows, you may even get along with them more than me! Please also note that only the last therapist does mobile work. Each of the rest will require you to travel to their own clinic space.
Without further adieu (therapists are listed in alphabetical order):
Brian Jordan @ MyHaven Massage
Clinic Address: Suite #204, 8135 102 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 4A4
→ Second floor of the Roots on Whyte community building
Clinic Website: under construction, but here is the online booking system
Brian fuels his passion to help people utilizing traditional Swedish massage techniques (usually focusing on a deep tissue application). He will also mix in Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage to further push how gliding and rolling techniques can benefit his clients.
Using his own multi-decade spanning experiences in martial arts and these associated ideas on movement, Brian uses this knowledge to enhance the treatments and information that he offers clients. He is also adept in Thai massage, having completed his training in this straight from the source itself — over in Thailand.
More recently Brian has started incorporating rapid release techniques into his practice, and has found it to be immediately beneficial with regards to soft tissue related issues and postural concerns. This can be particularly effective with specific conditions such as plantar fasciitis, or broader concerns like hypertonicity.
Danielle Morrical @ Danielle Morrical Acupuncture
Clinic Address: Out of her own home!
Clinic Website: Not yet completed, but here is her instagram page.
Danielle is not only an extraordinary massage therapist, but is a very intelligent registered acupuncturist as well. She fuses together massage + acupuncture to give multidimensional and dynamic treatments. This multi-discipline approach allows her to help the body deal with dysfunction in many different ways – resulting in a very enriching experience.
Danielle chooses to focus primarily on deep tissue massage work, but can also incorporate cupping or guasha to treatments as well. Please note that she no longer does massage-only treatments, and will have acupuncture focused (or fusioned) treatments as her primary option when you try to book in.
Marina Petruk @ Meridian Health Centre
Clinic Address: Room #105, 12328 102 Ave, Edmonton, AB T5N 0L9
Clinic Website: https://www.optimaltherapeuticmassage.com/
My better half of the Evolve Strength Downtown office space; Marina has been practicing massage for almost a decade now, and lives an active / high-tempo lifestyle. I find that she approaches her treatments with an attention to detail that you simply would not otherwise receive without this type of firsthand knowledge and experience.
Marina prefers to do therapeutic treatments, with a sports massage and deep tissue focus. She enjoys helping people bust out of improper movement patterns or crush dysfunctional restrictions within their body. As it so happens, she is one of the (if not the) most perceptive people on this list; honing in on each problem as she moves from area to area. And as such, will spend as much time as is necessary without rushing through areas of concern.
Tommie Olabode @ Integrative Health Mobile Services
Clinic Website: http://www.integrativehealthmobileservices.com/
Tommie offers intuitive treatments that are good for any age, activity level, or condition that someone may present with. Offering orthopedic assessments, you can be assured that you will get a safe and applicable treatment for whatever functional goals you may have. She offers cupping as well (the plastic cups with the suction-gun type)!
Having gone to school together, I can tell you that Tommie and myself have the same type of foundational knowledge. Tommie is the only therapist on this list offering mobile massage, and as such is able to travel to you. Note that she can also offer occasional morning treatments that take place within her home as well though.
