As some of you know, I am heading on a road trip spanning all of July. This means that Precision Therapeutics will be unable to provide treatments until I return (this is the unfortunate reality of being a one-man show). However, as I have already told many of you in person: I am not leaving you without options to improve your health in my absence! Continue reading for more information.
In this post you will find other therapists that I either regularly get maintenance massage work from myself, or therapists that I went to school with and respect very much. Notice that each therapist brings something unique to the table. Whether that be their actual approach to the massage, or the specific modalities and techniques used.
Who knows, you may even get along with them more than me! Please also note that only the last therapist does mobile work; all of the rest you will have to travel to their clinic space.
Without further adieu (just listed in alphabetical order):
Brian Jordan @ Therapeutic Body Concepts
Clinic Address: 15131 110 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5P 1E1
Clinic Website: http://therapeuticbodyconcepts.ca/
For the sake of transparency, Brian is one of my best friends but that does not factor into me recommending him as an alternative to my own treatments. Brian has a huge passion to help people, and utilizes traditional Swedish massage techniques – usually focusing on a deep tissue application to do so. Brian routinely falls back on his own multi-decade spanning experiences in martial arts and these associated ideas on movement to enhance the treatments and information that he offers his clients.
He is also adept in Thai massage, taking his training in Thailand itself. More recently Brian started incorporating rapid release techniques into his practice, and has found it to also be immediately beneficial with regards to soft tissue related issues and postural malalignment. I personally have experienced tremendous relief with general forearm work, as well as for plantar fasciitis related issues from these rapid release techniques.
Danielle Cyr @ BodyDevotion
Clinic Address: 11528 Jasper Ave, Edmonton, AB T5K 0M8
Clinic Website: https://bodydevotion.com/
Danielle is not only an excellent massage therapist, but is also a registered acupuncturist as well. She fuses together massage + acupuncture to give a multidimensional and encompassing treatment. This affords your body more than one way for it to deal with any dysfunction presently going on
Danielle chooses to focus primarily on deep tissue massage work, but can also incorporate cupping or guasha to treatments too. Please also note that she no longer does massage-only treatments, and will have massage + acupuncture fusions as her primary option when you try to book in.
Marina Petruk @ Meridian Health Centre
Clinic Address: 10990 124 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 0H8
Clinic Website: http://www.meridianhealthcentre.ca/
Marina has been practicing massage for almost a decade now, and lives quite an active lifestyle. In pointing these two things out first; I find that she approaches her treatments with an attention to detail that you would not receive without that type of firsthand knowledge or experience with regards to specific injuries or problem areas.
Marina prefers to do therapeutic treatments and enjoys helping people bust out of improper movement patterns, or crush restriction within their body. Marina is one of (if not the) most perceptive people on this list; honing in on each problem as she moves from area to area. Marina will spend as much time as is necessary and never rush through your areas of concern.
Tommie Olabode @ Integrative Health Mobile Services
Clinic Website: http://www.integrativehealthmobileservices.com/
Tommie offers intuitive treatments that are good for any age, activity level, or condition that someone may present with. Offering orthopedic assessments, you can be assured that you will get a safe and applicable treatment for whatever functional goals you may have. She offers cupping as well (the plastic cups with the suction-gun type)!
Having gone to school together, I can tell you that Tommie and myself have the same type of foundational knowledge. Tommie is the only therapist on this list offering mobile massage, and as such is able to travel to you. Note that she can offer occasional morning treatments that take place within her home as well though.
As a final note, every therapist listed here does offer direct billing (EDIT: I’ve been informed that Danielle does not actually direct bill, contrary to their website. She can still write an insurance receipt for you to claim though).
As for Precision Therapeutics, I will still update the website (and specifically the homecare section) while I am away, so keep your eyes peeled for that. But until I return, have a safe and productive July. Hopefully you can try out one (or a few) of these amazing therapists above in the meantime.
